Kickoff Car Show set for Thursday

The third annual Cruisin’ Downriver Kickoff Car Show will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the neighboring city-owned parking lots of Yack Recreation Center and Chase bank, Eureka Road at Third Street, Wyandotte.


Four trophies will be presented: From the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, The News-Herald Newspapers, WOMC-FM (104.3) and Wyandotte Mayor Joseph Peterson.


All cars must be parked by 4:45 p.m., and judging will start at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced on WOMC. One of its on-air personalities, Beau Daniels, will broadcast from the car show between 3 and 7 p.m.


The entry fee is $20, which includes an official 2012 Cruisin’ Downriver T-shirt. Entries are limited to the first 200 vehicles.
