Moose and Da Sharks at Yack

By Gary Gosselin, Heritage Newspapers

Moose and Da Sharks might sound like a surf and turf dinner that you may or may not want to try.

However, if you enjoy music from the 1950s and 1960s, Moose and Da Sharks is a band you might want to see play.

The band has been around since the early 1970s and has toured the country from coast to coast and throughout Canada.

The band has performed with many rock legends from the ’50s and ’60s, and its repertoire includes numbers like "Rock around the Clock," "Splish Splash," "The Dixie Cups Chapel of Love," "The Twist" and at least a few songs by the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis.

Besides being the star of Moose and Da Sharks, Moose Zonjic also hosts a radio show on WPON, 1460 A.M. every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Zonjic’s radio show plays oldies with a cruise theme to them. He also keeps his audience updated on all the latest news on car shows and cruise nights.

Those wishing to see Moose and Da Sharks play can head down to the Yack Arena in Wyandotte, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. July 8.

And for those of you with classic cars wishing to attend the concert, there will be special secured parking for classic cars.

Tickets for the event are $10 and are available at River’s Edge Gallery, Smokies Restaurant, Silk Thumb, C. C. Neal Art Gallery, Why not Costumes, Edward Jones Investments, Second Step Advertising and Wyandotte Business Association office.
